While I love the idea of the kill marks, they are not going to work in E...xploit online.
I expect the system to break within the first day as people will kill their own alt in a different corporation non-stop just because they can. Your intention as usual is well meant but I don't think you are taking your playerbase into account. I know I would love it if there were no such players in there but the reality is? They are. So maybe you should think about "how can I exploit a mechanic to the fullest" when you come up with something new before you release it to the masses c: Then we probably would have had less of a disaster that the old Bounty system was, not to mention the new one being just as bad, only in a different shade. I mean you can bounty yourself? How stupid is that :c
But I digress.
I want to feel like that is a nice addition to the game. I am just not sure if it is the way it is presented. The big question is "should the ones using the system as intended be punished only because the exploiters want to feel special?"
Since you said you already have a back end information in there, I hope we will get to see it. Like, right click the ship, "show kills", and you will see the names of the people you killed, with a link to the most recent killmail of them, and the counter of how often they were killed in total.
If you bring that, then all the "I want to feel special" people killing their alts hundreds of times over will be instantly separable from a REAL hard working kill ship. It would also make for really nice trophy ships that will get a history.
Now we only need a backend information of "who has flown that ship" and "who manufactured that ship". That would be amazing c:

Ben Ishikela wrote:2) compare the pricetag on the killmail and on the ship itself (maybe just hullcost, because fittings can change). then only reward killmark, if "kill's hull price" > "own hull price". Or messure it with the point system from tournaments instead. No. You want to deny people who go out in cheap frigates the reward of killing a more valuable ship? That is not okay. My Incursus disagrees with you! |
